Allergy 3rd Edition

In the third edition, we have followed the same format as for the second edition. In addition, we have recognised the importance of allergic disease in children and have included a chapter devoted to its diagnosis and treatment. Also, it is now becoming obvious that allergy develop very early in life, the ‘allergic march’ often starting before birth. Consequently, we have added a chapter on the early life origins of allergy and asthma. Finally, the great advances in our knowledge about the scientific basis of allergic diseases, particularly the relationship between genes and the environment, has necessitated the updating of most chapters, particularly those dealing with the scientific basis of allergy.
